About the producer

The South India Coffee Company (SICC) was started in 2017 by husband and wife duo Akshay Dashrath and Komal Sable. Lincoln Coffee Roasters has been buying from SICC since we began roasting, their coffees are exceptional and we take a new lot every season.

SICC are 5th generation coffee planters from Coorg, one of the oldest coffee-growing regions in India. Having spent a significant amount of time in the UK for the last 10 years, Akshay & Komal realised that Indian Coffees are underrated and under-represented.

Ethical and good coffee is expensive in terms of time, money and effort to grow. With the current international prices for coffee being insufficient to manage a farm with and existing certifications, although beneficial to some extent, are time-consuming exercises to obtain and don’t do enough to remedy this. We strongly believe that being growers and merchants puts us in a unique position to bring to the market a degree of traceability and fairness that’s never been done before. Our fundamental ethos is to push a higher degree of profits to the farmers and make it financially beneficial for them to focus on long term investment in practices and processes that lead to sustainable and quality coffee.

Akshay & Komal deserve great recognition for improving and bettering Indian coffee on the global map, as such we a proud to have roasted their coffees to show you all how great coffee from India can be. We hope you enjoy this.
